Cursed Pumpkin Pasties

So you’re off to Hogwarts. You’ve waited eleven whole entire years to get your letter, but now that you’re on the train with your bossy childhood friend Rose, (who is a lot like her mother Hermoine) well, you’re having second thoughts. The thing that no one tells you about being the child of someone famous is that it actually factually sucks. So if you walk past a carriage holding a single boy, the son of your father’s school enemy, and he offers to buy you a pumpkin pasty, you go for it. Because bromances are love stories, too.
½ lb ground beef
½ tsp ground cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
1 TB tomato paste
½ can pumpkin puree
1 sheet puff pastry
Defrost your puff pastry. Saute the beef with the spices and tomato paste before adding pumpkin. Let the filling cool completely.
Slice the sheet of puff pastry into four rectangles, then fill, fold, and crimp closed. Poke the top of the pasties with a fork, and then toss them in the freezer while the oven preheats to 375. Bake for 30 minutes and then channel your inner Trolley Witch and serve with chocolate frogs and fizzing whizbees. I like to dip mine in salty yogurt, but that isn’t how they are served on the Hogwarts Express.
